Different tasks involved in making a guitar

For the most part what I enjoy most about guitar-making is the process of putting the pieces together and going from inert wood to a box that responds to sounds around it and has a personality when you tap it, hold it while another guitar is being played or speak into it. Perhaps my least favorite part is sanding through three different grits and checking for any scratches or dings with these 54-year-old eyes. Preparation of the pieces before assembly can be slow and repetitive as well but it has its satisfying moments.
